Your hosts Lucy Clarke and Aaron Navarro are the Belizeans who have owned Hok'ol K'in since 2006. They have carried on the tradition of quality and cleanliness instilled by the founder, and continue to excel in customer satisfaction.
Hok'ol K'in is a family establishment. We enjoy hosting families large and small, from all over the world. We have worked with Spring and Summer groups from the United States since we opened in 1995, and offer special all-inclusive packages for larger groups. Contact us for details.
In 1994. US Peace Corps volunteer Marty Conway and her Belizean adviser Francisco Puck had a dream about cultural enrichment. Francisco's Yucateca Maya heritage was important to him and he wanted to share his knowledge with people from other cultures. Marty and Francisco purchased the last piece of available seaside land in Corozal Town, left the Peace Corps, and embarked on a dream excursion. Their tagline was "Cultural Immersion Comes Alive!" and they involved Francisco's family and the whole community in the project. As business partners they unearthed Hok'ol K'in - "The place where the sun rises".
In 1995, near the end of building completion, Marty's daughter Carol joined the crew. Carol's enthusiasm and desire to innovate allowed for the metamorphosis of the business, which quickly grew in to a successful hotel and restaurant, catering to tourists, church groups and Belizean business travelers. After Francisco retired, Marty and Carol continued to run the business until 2006 when they sold it to their Belizean manager Lucy and her husband Aaron.
We love what we do, and our passion shows in our quality service. We hope you are happy at Hok'ol K'in, and we invite you to stay in touch.
